Streambox Cloud with Sessions Workflow: Best Practices, Part 2
2. Set LDMP settings on Cloud
A session's network settings are tied to the account that created the session. You can use the Accounts tab in the Cloud to add a sub-user (use the Operator level of access) who can have a different set of LDMP Network settings if you have a variety of streams going into the Cloud from your company.
The ?Default View Protocol Settings? controls the outbound stream characteristics from the cloud to the receiving Streambox Media Players and decoders.
Below are Streambox?s suggestions for settings when streaming to wifi-connected media players such as iPhones/iPads. If you need high bitrate settings for other streams we suggest creating another sub-account with new LDMP settings.
As a general guideline: for iOS/wifi devices keep bitrate at or below 6000kbps, and peak bitrate at 8Mbps.
To configure, log in to Streambox Cloud. Click on the ?Default Routing Protocol: LDMP? Button under the ?Live? tab
Recommended safe values are listed below
ACK Timeout set to 1000
Buffer size Packets set to 700;8000
We estimate a 2-second latency with these settings in concert with settings on your Encoder, shown in a later section.
Second value in outgoing Buffer size denotes maximum bitrate for outgoing streams of 8000 kbps, including packets re-sent by LDMP. This is also called ?peak bitrate.?
Click on the ?Submit? button to save those settings.
