Ibc post 2

IBC 2023 Preview

Streambox will once again be on the AWS stand ( C.590 ) at IBC, demoing our AWS-native streaming and transcoding solutions, including SpectraVM and Bridge for CDI, and unveiling some new products and features.

Demos include live sessions with SaaS versions of Adobe Premiere, Unreal Engine, and DaVinci Resolve, providing an up close and personal view of the future of cloud-based workflows. Reference feeds from AWS back to planet Earth provide the highest level of interaction for the creative person, with super low latency and color accurate video, thanks to our desktop form factor Halo decoder and iPad Pro for playout.

We will also be introducing a couple of new products and updates to some of our best sellers.

Streambox Server

Hate having to pay for data usage in a streaming session? Welcome to Streambox Server, your very own in-house or cloud-deployed server, capable of supporting multiple clients and multiple simultaneous sessions. Streambox Server runs on macOS (perfect for Mac Mini), Linux and Windows and works with the entire range of Streambox encoders and decoders. Launching Q4 2023.

Chroma Support for ST 2110

A new version of Chroma multichannel encoder now supports ST 2110! We expect to begin delivery in Q4 2023.

Chroma UHFR

Another new version of our award-wining Chroma multi-channel encoder is currently in beta and has successfully streamed the output of a Sony Ultra High Frame camera during a trial at a major live sporting event. A 240 fps HD output from the camera's CCU was encoded and sent to a broadcast facility as a part of an enhanced REMI workflow. This promises to be a truly exciting product for live sports production and more!

Adobe Premiere was running on AWS in London along with Spectra VM, which runs on the same AWS instance and integrates with Premiere. Spectra VM outputs two independent streams over IP to Streambox Server, which then delivers the two streams to the AWS booth at IBC Amsterdam. One feed is sent to Streambox Halo which outputs a reference quality video feed to a monitor. The other feed is sent to an iPad running the free iOS Media Player. Overall latency is 4 to 5 frames in both cases.

Spectra for Avid Pro Tools

Spectra for Pro Tools provides compatibility with Dolby Atmos Renderer, streams up to 16 channels of uncompressed, low latency audio and HD video, and allows you to interact with one or more reviewers / team members.

Spectra for Pro Tools beta is now available for MacOS (Apple & Intel silicon). If you would like to try out the public beta, please email us at beta@streambox.com and we will get you hooked up!

Bob Hildeman and Alex Telitsine will be available for private demoes and further details on our new product announcements. Stop by to say hello or book a meeting with us!
