Introducing Spectra for Avid Pro Tools
Streambox has announced a new streaming solution for Avid Pro Tools. Spectra, a high performance software encoder, is now in beta for the MacOS version of Pro Tools.
For nearly three decades, Avid Pro Tools has reigned supreme as the go-to digital audio workstation (DAW) in the music industry. From its early days as one of the pioneers in commercially producing releases for major labels, Pro Tools has consistently evolved to meet the ever-increasing demands of professional audio production.
Pro Tools owes its enduring success to a robust set of features that cater to the needs of even the most demanding professionals. With the ability to record multiple tracks simultaneously, edit and mix hundreds of tracks within a single session, and apply native and third-party plugins for final mastering, Pro Tools empowers audio engineers to bring their creative visions to life.
The professional media world is quite a different place than is was 30 years! Amongst other things, geographically distributed creative teams are now the norm. Streambox products help these teams collaborate over IP, with the same quality of video and audio they enjoyed back in the day of on-prem sessions.
Spectra is a low friction, high performance streaming encoder that integrates with creative apps, eliminating the need for costly and complex external hardware solutions. It is widely used in critical review sessions using Avid Media Composer, DaVinci, Flame, Unreal Engine and many other industry icons.
Spectra for Pro Tools provides compatibility with Dolby Atmos Renderer, streams up to 16 channels of uncompressed, low latency audio and HD video, and allows you to interact with one or more reviewers / team members.
Spectra for Pro Tools beta is now available for MacOS (Apple & Intel silicon). If you would like to try out the public beta, please email us at beta@streambox.com and we will get you hooked up!
